Invocation Recite once : (Chant One Time Only) Translation: “O Gurudev! I invoke you.”

‘ॐ वेदादि गुरुदेवाय विद्महे, परम गुरुवे धीमहि, तन्नौ: गुरु: प्रचोदयात्।। ‘ हे गुरुदेव! मैं आपका आह्वान करता हूं।

Step-by-Step Procedure for Abhishekam

1. Preparation of the Space:

Select a clean and quiet place for the Abhishekam facing North directly towards your Home temple.
Arrange all the materials in a Pooja plate.
Clean and cleanse the gemstone with a dry cloth before beginning the ritual as shared above.

Light a lamp or diya and burn incense or camphor.
Meditate for a few minutes to calm your mind and focus on the ritual.

3. Purification with Water:

Hold the gemstone in your right hand and pour clean water over it while chanting a purification mantra like “Om Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarvavastham Gatoapi Va.” ( “ॐ अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा सर्वावस्थां गतोऽपि वा” )
Wash the gemstone thoroughly with water, visualizing the cleansing of all impurities and negative energies.

4. Milk Abhishekam:

Next, pour milk over the gemstone, symbolizing purification. While doing this, chant the gemstone’s associated mantra
This step is believed to energize the gemstone and align it with its astrological planet.

5. Honey Abhishekam:

Pour a small amount of honey over the gemstone, symbolizing sweetness and attracting positive energies.
Continue chanting the mantra as you perform this step.

6. Curd Abhishekam:

Pour curd over the gemstone. Curd represents nourishment and the fulfilment of desires. Chant the mantra while doing so.

7. Ghee Abhishekam:

Pour ghee (clarified butter) over the gemstone, symbolizing purity and spiritual illumination.
Chant the same mantra as you continue this step.

8. Gangajal Abhishekam (or Use a Mountain / Glacier water):

If you have Gangajal, pour it over the gemstone to give it the sacred energy of the Ganges. If you are living abroad and don’t have Ganga Jal, find a river which has running water from a high mountains or glaciers we assume the water from a very high source such as mountains with ice is highly pure and energetic, use this water unfiltered or treated to energise the gemstone.
Chant the respective mantra and visualize the gemstone absorbing divine energy from the universe, the sun and Mother Earth.

9. Final Purification with Water:

Rinse the gemstone once again with clean water to remove any remaining milk, honey, curd, or ghee.
Continue chanting the mantra while washing the gemstone.

10. Offering Flowers and Tulsi:

Place a few flowers and Tulsi leaves on or near the gemstone as an offering to the divine.
Light more incense or camphor as a final offering.

11. Drying and Wearing the Gemstone and Mantras:

Gently dry the gemstone with a clean white cloth.
Place your Gemstone, ring/ornament in a Copper / Bronze Plate. Do the Mantras after Pooja and Abhishekam for a minimum of 1 mala. Offer your prayers to the gemstone and the associated planet .
If the gemstone is part of a ring or pendant, you can wear it after the Abhishekam ritual.
