The Ancient Power of Nepali Rudraksha and Historical Findings
During the development of rudraalaya.com, extensive research into historic texts and scientific analyses revealed fascinating insights into the mystical properties of original Nepali Rudraksha beads. This article aims to present these findings, based on radiological research from Banaras Hindu University and various historical accounts.
Composition and Physical Properties of Natural Nepali Rudraksha
According to leading radiological research at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, Nepali Rudraksha beads contain a unique mix of elements, including copper, iron, manganese, barium, gold, silver and iron silver elements in different-different compositions in each Nepali Rudraksha. Each bead’s composition varies, contributing to its distinct physiochemical properties, such as mineral content, moisture, oil, and a specific gravity of 1.6481. Notably, a Nepali Rudraksha with a specific gravity greater than 1 will sink in water; otherwise, it will float.
Electromagnetic and Spiritual Properties
Nepali Orginal Rudraksha is the only seed in the world which has seeds inside its hollow chambers which have seeds in its womb having “spandan” or vibration. This vibration is due to electromagnetic, paramagnetic and inductive properties which are very-very high in natural Nepali Rudraksha varying in different Mukhi’s which upon wearing and meditating purifies your blood and opens your heart chakra and agya (or ajna) chakra is also known as the third eye chakra.
It sends electrical impulses to the agya chakra making you aware and intuitive to take positive decisions and helping you transform your mental ability to think faster. In Hindu tradition, it is the sixth primary chakra in the body and is located in the centre of the forehead, between the eyebrows and meditating on this with Guru Mantra you can activate your Crown Chakra called Sahasrara. (*Made of thousand Petals Crown Chakra called Sahasrara).
Wearing a Rudraksha can change your personality inside out with clearer thoughts, a calm personality, a smiling face and an aura on your face, forehead temple and skin which radiates the energies of your activated chakra which others can sense by feeling good about you and that you automatic start healing other when you are around them.
Others start showing a positive way of speaking and looking at you. You may get this to hear often “You have changed or you sound different”. This is the power of Original Nepali Rudraksha, you have to wear it and meditate on its energy to feel the changes taking you to an alpha state of mind, activating the endocrine gland, regulating blood circulation, controlling high BP, reducing your breath count which helps you live longer removing depression or hypertension.
You feel the energy of neurons, which makes you calmer (neurons are the key players in the brain). That is the reason why in Hindu or Tebetian Buddhist Religion we are asked to chant mantras on a Rudraksha bead as by pressing a bead from 3 fingers in a way that presses an acupressure point in your thumb which starts opening your pineal gland, also known as the epiphysis cerebri or pineal body (in our language agya (or ajna) chakra), is a small, cone-shaped gland in the brain that produces melatonin, a hormone that regulates circadian rhythms and seasonal physiology.
It’s located in the midline of the brain, between the thalamic bodies, and behind the habenular commissure.
The pineal gland is part of the endocrine system and is bathed in cerebrospinal fluid its main function is to produce melatonin in a cyclical pattern at night, which helps regulate sleep patterns and the body’s internal clock. Melatonin levels change throughout the day and year, and the gland’s rhythm is controlled by clock genes in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which is synchronized to the light-dark cycle. Melatonin also affects the reproductive system and may help protect cells from damage. The main function of the pineal gland (in our language agya (or ajna) chakra), is to receive and convey information about the current light-dark cycle from the environment via the production and secretion of melatonin cyclically at night (dark period).
The ajna chakra or pineal gland is also connected to the pituitary and hypothalamus glands, as well as the eyes, ears, and nose hence upon wearing rudraksha increases your sensitivity or sixth sense. Some believe that the ajna chakra stimulates energies to provide clarity and move to a higher plane of perception or intuition which is called sixth sense.
Historical Context and Spiritual Significance
The practice of wearing Rudraksha beads has deep roots in Hindu tradition, with historical texts and findings highlighting their importance. For instance, The Shree Shiva Purana, a major Puranic text dedicated to Lord Shiva, documents the use of Rudraksha beads over hundreds of millenniums. The Shiva Purana text itself evolved between the 4th and 14th centuries CE, reflecting the rich traditions of Shaivism.
Archaeological Insights
Our exploration led us to Bisrakh village near Noida, U.P., believed to be Ravana’s birthplace. The Bisrakh Temple, with its mystical Shivalingam, has intrigued archaeologists, as many excavations have failed to find its end. This Shivalingam temple is connected via an underground tunnel to the Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple in Ghaziabad, which dates back over 3,489 years according to the Vikram Samvat calendar as per our findings.
Archaeological Dates Calculations and Historical Timelines
To understand the archaeological historical timelines better, we calculated significant dates using the Vikram Samvat calendar. For example, the Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple found in 1451 BCE, corresponds to 3,489 Vikram Samvat years before 2024 CE. Similarly, the Pashupatinath Temple, dating back to 800 BCE, is approximately 2,824 years old. We have elaborated the calculations below however to understand this we should learn a few historical facts.
The Story of Ravana
It is written in the ancient book “Ravan Samhita” that Ravana (original name Dashagriva later was given name by Lord Shiva as Ravan means He-Who-Roars) meditated on Lord Brahma for 9000 years to get the boon of immortality, he asked “O mighty Brahma, may I never obtain death at the hands of Devas, Asuras, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Rakshasas, and Nagas.” and took Lanka “the divine city of Gold” from his elder stepbrother Kuber after requesting him to vacant Lanka which belonged to “asuras” and his nana (grandfather) Sumali. Ravana’s father Vishrava, a famous rishi, was the son of Sarswat Brahmin Rishi Pulastya, one of Brahma’s tenth “mind-born” sons (mans putra) and Prajapati’s.
Ravana’s father Vishrava was one of the Saptarishi or “the Seven Great Sages during the age of Manu”. It is said that Ravana was an amid devotee of Shiva like his father and most learned in Shiksha, vidya, kala, politics, shashtra learned in Vedas, shastra, tantra, mantra and Yantra siddhis, he was a master of warfare and music considered the most powerful in his times. He was half Brahmin and half Asura due to his Asura mother Kaikasi. Ravana’s 10 heads symbolize the Six Shastras and Four Vedas, He was considered the most learned, intelligent, powerful and ferocious in his times. He later became “the king of rakshasas” and is depicted with 10 heads and 20 arms, which lent him the name “Dashanan”.
According to the Shree Shiva Mahapurana, Ravan wore a siddhamala and many rudrakshas, however, Lord Shiva gave Ravana a 27-faced rudraksha, or satyais-mukhi, to grant him immortality and fulfil his desires after he worshipped him for 100 years he gave him his entire life span back which he has spent back meditating as he requested, he was gifted an astra (weapon) called “Chandrahas Khadak, he “The Lord Shiva” himself named him “Ravana”. The bead is said to have disappeared into the earth when Ravana was killed by Lord Rama (an avatar of Lord Vishnu in Human Form).
People who claim Ramayana, Lord Ram and Ravana are myths they should know. Ravana was born in Bisrakh village near Noida, U.P. (now in India), which is now known as Bisrakh, Jalalpur, a village in the Greater Noida West, region of Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Here people worship Lord Shiva’s Magical Shivlingam in the same temple where Ravan’s father worshipped and established the Shivalingam [he found a svayambhu shivalingam with 8 faces {octagone}, which is more than thousands of years old (approx 11,000+ years)] this place is now called “Bisrakh Dhaam” he (Ravana) spent his childhood in this same village on the soil of Bharat (now India)]. No one till date celebrates Dussehra or organised Ram Leela here in this village and observes a 9-day shok (grief) to give peace to Ravans Atma (soul), his old childhood home is still here.
It is also believed that Bisrakh Temples Shivalingam is mystical and has no end as many archaeological excavations have failed in past. And here is an underground tunnel which was not 100% explored but is believed to be connected to Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple in Ghaziabad which is a Swayambhu Historic Shivalingam found 3,489+ years back as per Vikram Samvat Hindu Calender. Famous Tantrik Chandraswami got this temple digging done but never found an end to this Shivalingam he found a rare 24 Mukhi Shankh which he took away with him as claimed in some news articles.
Exploring Historical Texts and Mystical Sites
As I began reading historical texts and conducting extensive research, I discovered that not much has been documented about Rudrakshas. This lack of information intrigued me, especially since only a few people have revolutionized the topic through the internet and social media platforms. One particularly fascinating finding was from the “Ravan Samhita,” which mentioned that Ravana meditated for 9,000 years to receive a boon from Brahma Ji and then worshipped Lord Shiva for over 100+ years, ultimately gaining his entire spent life span back from Lord Shiva.
This discovery led me to explore an ancient temple in Bisrakh, near Greater Noida West, believed to be connected to Ravana. In 2021, I visited this temple for the first time and uncovered intriguing facts about its mystical Shivalingam. It is believed that this Shivalingam has no end, as many archaeological excavations have failed to find its base in the past few decades. Furthermore, an underground tunnel is supposed to connect this temple to the Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple in Ghaziabad U.P., approx. some 15-17 km away which houses a historic Swayambhu Shivalingam found over 3,489 years ago according to the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar.
Calculation How old is Dudeshwar Mahadev Temple of Ghaziabad?
It’s mentioned on the Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple website that this temple was 1st inaugurated in Vikram Samvat 1511 and 3rd November 1454 BCE. Their website is: https://dudheshwarnath.org/about-dudeshwarnath-mandir-history/
Unveiling Ancient Connections
The legendary Tantrik Chandraswami once conducted excavations at this site but never found the end of the Shivalingam. He discovered a rare 24 Mukhi Shankh, which he took with him. These findings suggest a deep, ancient connection between the temples and the rich spiritual heritage of Hinduism.
Calculating the dates and understanding the timelines of these ancient sites, I realized that the Shivalingam in Bisrakh could be over 11,000+ years old. The Dudheshwar Mahadev Temple, dating back 3,489+ years, and the Pashupatinath Temple, over 2,824+ years old, highlight the profound antiquity of these spiritual sites.
To calculate how many years 1451 BCE (Before Christ or BC) is before 2024 CE in the Vikram Samvat, we need to understand the starting point of the Vikram Samvat calendar, which is 57 BCE.
Here are the steps to calculate it:
- Determine the Current Vikram Samvat Year:
- The Vikram Samvat starts 57 years before the Gregorian calendar (BC or BCE).
- So, to get the Vikram Samvat year corresponding to 2024 CE: 2024+57=20812024 + 57 = 20812024+57=2081
- Calculate the Years from 1451 BCE to 2024 CE:
- From 1451 BCE to the start of the Common Era (0 CE) is 1451 years.
- From 0 CE to 2024 CE is 2024 years.
- So, the total years from 1451 BCE to 2024 CE: 1451+2024=3475 years1451 + 2024 = 3475 \text{ years}1451+2024=3475 years
- Convert 1451 BCE to Vikram Samvat:
- The Vikram Samvat year starts from 57 BCE.
- So, the Vikram Samvat year equivalent for 1451 BCE will be: 1451−57=1408 VS (Vikram Samvat)1451 – 57 = 1408 \text{ VS (Vikram Samvat)}1451−57=1408 VS (Vikram Samvat)
So, if you count from 1451 BCE in terms of Vikram Samvat until 2024 CE, you get:
2081 VS+1408 VS=3489 years2081 \text{ VS} + 1408 \text{ VS} = 3489 \text{ years}2081 VS+1408 VS=3489 years
Therefore, 1451 BCE is 3489 Vikram Samvat years before 2024 CE as per the Vikram Samvat calendar.
I realized that if this calculation is correct then this Bisrakh Mahadev temple is older than the Pashupatinath Tempel.
Let’s calculate how old is pasupatinath tempel. As per Wikipedia, Pashupati Nath temple and Nepal Tourism we found that this temple was explored in 800 BCE and early footprints were found in 400 BCE.
Please see the calculations.
To determine how many years 800 BCE (Before the Common Era) is from 2024 CE in the Vikram Samvat calendar, we follow these steps:
- Determine the Current Vikram Samvat Year:
- The Vikram Samvat year is 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar year.
- Thus, for 2024 CE: 2024+57=2081 Vikram Samvat2024 + 57 = 2081 \text{ Vikram Samvat}2024+57=2081 Vikram Samvat
- Calculate the Years from 800 BCE to 2024 CE:
- From 800 BCE to 0 BCE is 800 years.
- From 0 CE to 2024 CE is 2024 years.
- So, the total number of years from 800 BCE to 2024 CE is: 800+2024=2824 years800 + 2024 = 2824 \text{ years}800+2024=2824 years
Therefore, 800 BCE is 2824 years before 2024 CE as per the Vikram Samvat calendar.
I was left speechless how can a temple be so old can not be looked after by the government as if I looked at the historical data of Pashupatinath temple was found 2824+ years back and was declared and classified as a World Heritage Site in 1979 then as per my calculation Dudeshwar Mahadev Temple of Ghaziabad is approx 3489+ years old which was 1st found by the villagers 3500 years back and much later in history was visited frequently by Chatrapati Shivaji who named a village after this temple in mahrashtra.
We found a village named Dudheshwarmala ( दूंधेश्वरम्ला ) in Sangamner Taluka in Ahmednagar district of Nashik division falling under Maharashtra State in India.
The date given on the Dudheswara temple website could be wrong as on the website of Ghaziabad Authority this temple is claimed to be 5000+ years old check the website https://ghaziabad.nic.in/en/places-of-interest/
Henceforth to find out how old is Shiv Purna and Ravan Samhit we found that The Shiva Purana, one of the major Puranic texts dedicated by Lord Shiva, was composed over several centuries and its exact date of origin is not definitively established. However, scholars generally agree on a few key points regarding its compilation:
- Early Composition: Parts of the Shiva Purana might have been composed as early as the first millennium BCE. These early sections would have been passed down through oral tradition before being written down.
- Compilation Period: The main compilation of the Shiva Purana is believed to have occurred between the 4th and 10th centuries CE. This period saw the consolidation of various legends, hymns, and stories related to Lord Shiva into a more structured text.
- Further Additions: The text continued to evolve, with additional chapters and stories being added as late as the 14th century CE. This indicates that the Shiva Purana, like many ancient Indian texts, underwent continuous development and expansion.
- Medieval Period: By the medieval period, the Shiva Purana had taken a more definitive shape and became one of the central texts in the worship of Lord Shiva.
The Shiva Purana, as it is known today, is the result of centuries of contributions from various authors and scholars, reflecting the rich and diverse traditions of Shaivism.
Then I calculated how many years the first millennium BCE as per Vikram Samvat if calculated as on 29th July 2024.
To calculate how many years ago the first millennium BCE is from 2024 CE in the Vikram Samvat calendar, let’s break down the steps:
- Determine the Current Vikram Samvat Year:
- The Vikram Samvat year is 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar year.
- Therefore, for 2024 CE: 2024+57=2081 Vikram Samvat2024 + 57 = 2081 \text{ Vikram Samvat}2024+57=2081 Vikram Samvat
- Define the First Millennium BCE:
- The first millennium BCE spans from 1000 BCE to 1 BCE.
- Calculate the Number of Years from the First Millennium BCE to 2024 CE:
- From 1000 BCE to 0 CE is 1000 years.
- From 0 CE to 2024 CE is 2024 years.
- Therefore, the total number of years from 1000 BCE to 2024 CE is: 1000+2024=3024 years1000 + 2024 = 3024 \text{ years}1000+2024=3024 years
Therefore, the first millennium BCE (1000 BCE to 1 BCE) is approximately 3024 to 2025 years before 2024 CE in the Vikram Samvat calendar.
Henceforth we found that Shiv Purna was 1st time conceived as a literature around 3024 to 2025 years back which matches our calculation that Dudheswar Mahadev temple could be 3489 + years old, hence if this temple is this old and Ravana if prayed to Brahma ji 9000 years and to Lord Shiva 100+ years we need to understand that Ravan’s father Vishrava was one of the Saptarishi or “the Seven Great Sages during the age of Manu” who was the son of was the son of Sarswat Brahmin Rishi Pulastya, one of Brahma’s tenth “mind-born” sons (mans putra) and Prajapati’s. Rishi Vishrava meditated on the same shivalingam that is in Bisrakh village near Noida, U.P. (now in India), which is now known as Bisrakh, Jalalpur, a village in the Greater Noida West, region of Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Here people worship Lord Shiva’s Magical Shivlingam in the same temple where Ravan’s father worshipped and established the Shivalingam [he found a svayambhu shivalingam with 8 faces {octagone}, which is more than thousands of years old (approx 11,000+ years)] this place is now called “Bisrakh Dhaam” he (Ravana) spent his childhood in this same village on the soil of Bharat (now India). No one till date celebrates Dussehra or organised Ram Leela here in this village and observes a 9-day shok (grief) to give peace to Ravans Atma (soul), his old childhood home is still here.
Hence if this Shivaliangam could be 11000+ years old then why government of India has not explored or built this location as a World Heritage Site? If my calculations are correct as per historical facts and that are all over the internet and are mentioned 100s of old books just imagine how old the mystical Nepali Rudrakshas and Lord Shiva could be.
How old could be Shiva & Rudrakshas if our Earth is 4.54 Billion years old?
Imagine if Earth is estimated to be 4.54 billion years old as per data shared on the National Geography website, plus or minus about 50 million years. Scientists have scoured the Earth searching for the oldest rocks to radiometrically date, then imagine how many thousands of years old is Lord Shiva and Ravana and Rudraksha are and how many thousands of years later Ramayana happened. I am surprised how the power of Rudraksha has been hidden for so many thousands of years. I believe I am not writing this website but exploring a history which no one has found yet, I have a moto to go to each jyotirlinga and India and the world’s oldest Shiva temples to explore how old is this journey which we Hindus have travelled over thousands on millennials to offer our heart, love, affection and devotion to our revered lord shiva.
Deep Meditation and Spiritual Journey
During my research and development of Rudraalaya, I immersed myself in a profound journey of deep meditation under the guidance of my GuruDev. Over 24 months, his extensive knowledge of Rudrakshas and the mysteries they hold ignited a deep interest within me. This spiritual path led to incredible experiences, where Rudrakshas naturally began coming into my possession, allowing me to complete a Nepali Rudraksha Siddhamala in just a few months.
One of the most significant moments in this journey was when my Gurudev gifted me a rare 1 Mukhi Nepali Rudraksha seed from Nepal. This bead held immense spiritual significance and marked a turning point in my understanding of Rudrakshas. Later, another esteemed Guru, Dr. Mohitosh Mukherjee, showed me an original fully developed 1 Mukhi Rudraksha that was over 500+ years old, passed down from his own Guru Ji. I have held that 1 mukhi rudraksha in my hand and can not express my experience. These experiences fueled my curiosity and drove me to delve deeper into the historical and mystical aspects of Rudrakshas. I have personally seen the magical change of Rudraksha, guru mantra, guru pooja and meditation in my life. I have crossed seas of challenges in my life and helped my family come out of such losses in the last 29 years. My faith deepens every day by sharing this virtual power of Rudraksha with 100 of people in past. It has invoked me and came to me to explore its powers and write this entire website and taken me to many historic temples and Jyotirlingas. Every time I have travelled to a temple and looked at its stones they start telling me something which is older and beyond human wisdom.
Rudraalaya.com is not just a website but a mission to uncover and share the hidden powers of Nepali Rudraksha. As we continue this journey, we aim to revive the ancient knowledge and pride of Hinduism, contributing to a global recognition of India’s rich spiritual heritage and changing the lives of Human Beings.
Personal Spiritual Experiences
Throughout my journey, I have personally witnessed the transformative power of Rudraksha, Guru Mantras, Guru Pooja, and meditation. These practices have helped me overcome numerous challenges in my life and brought my family through difficult times. Sharing the spiritual power of Rudraksha with hundreds of people and having seen changing them has deepened my faith and motivated me to explore its mysteries further.
During my meditative practices, I encountered profound experiences. For instance, during a career transition in 2016, I had a vision of a man I had never seen before, which moved me to tears. Later, a friend introduced me to a Guru, and I began continuous meditation after receiving Guru Deeksha. I was astonished to discover that the man in my vision was none other than Neeb Karoli Baba of Kanchi Dhaam, whose temple I had unknowingly passed by numerous times without visiting his temple.
In 2023, after several attempts in the last few years, I finally visited Kanchi Dhaam and stayed there to meditate for two days. I also explored an ashram at Kankari Ghat, where I experienced a mystical connection with a unique yellow stone Shivalingam. It is said that it is a divine calling if you have reached a particular place and destination. I stayed Kanchi Dhaam and meditated for two days. I also explored an ashram of Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, Kakrighat
Ghat which is around 22 to 25 km in distance and when I went there to meditate as I sat next to Guru Neeb Karoli Baba’s idol in the ashram just then the priest came to me and said you would get distracted here and directed me towards a small temple near the river banks.
I took the stairs to a smaller temple of Lord Shiva a few steps down the main temple towards the river bank under a big Bodhi Tree full of monkeys here and there. Here inside the temple, I saw a beautiful very unique yellow stone Shivalingam, a similar colour shivalingam I have at my home of pure Himalayan spathic (quartz) which was given by my Guru Ji.
During my meditation, monkeys surrounded the temple, observing me but never disturbing my chanting. I later got to know that Swami Vivekananda came here at Kakrighat Ghat which was earlier known as “Bhirav taal” and meditated under the same tree where this temple was and he found his enlightenment at this same place in 1890. It is said that Lord Bhirava gave him his spiritual enlightenment at this same place. Lord Bhirava is the ferrous form of Lord Shiva.
I still believe all these experiences are mystical and I have much to share which I can’t share all here and am not allowed to speak about. However, I can just say if this finding of mine can give birth to the name Rudraalaya which I never thought of before 2019, it is the divine Shiva and his Rudraksha which has forced me to write and start Rudraalaya.com to share his word.
These experiences have convinced me of the mystical power of Rudrakshas and the divine guidance in my journey.
A Mission to Rediscover Hindu Heritage
Rudraalaya.com is not just a website but a mission to uncover and share the hidden powers of Rudraksha. My spiritual journey, guided by divine insights and historical explorations, aims to revive the ancient knowledge and pride of Hinduism. By visiting historic temples and Jyotirlingas, I seek to understand the ancient spiritual practices that have shaped Hinduism over millennia.
Personal Journey and Conclusion
Through my journey of meditation and research, guided by my GuruDev, I discovered the profound impact of Rudraksha beads. My experiences, including visiting historic temples and receiving divine insights, have deepened my understanding of these mystical beads and their potential to transform lives. My journey has revealed the profound significance of Rudrakshas and the rich spiritual heritage of Hinduism. Through Rudraalaya.com, I aim to share this knowledge and inspire others to explore the mystical power of Rudrakshas as a gift to humanity by lord Shiva.
I pray to Lord Shiva and believe that one fine day “Bharat” now known as India will one day reclaim its lost history and knowledge, of many many millenniums which was burnt in the Takshila University of Gaya present-day Bihar. There will be a day in the future when the world will look up to Bharat “India” our nation in search of peace with pride and every Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu devotee will be the torch bearer and example of Dharma, Vidya, Shastra, Sanskara and Sanskriti to lead the world in the hours of darkness by becoming a beacon of pride and spirituality for the world.
Acknowledgements
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my GuruDev and many spiritual guides for his guidance and blessings. This research and the creation of Rudraalaya.com are dedicated to the divine energy of Lord Shiva and the mystical power of Rudraksha beads & my father who was my 1st Guru who introduced me to Shiva, Lord Mahakaleswar Ji Ujjain.
